Cornhill Storm, Demon Maxy and Hobbs Goblin were quick to begin.
Demon Maxy (turned its head outwards and marred Cornhill Storm on the first turn and the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have injured the left back muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M Chilcott regarding Demon Maxy's racing manners on the first turn and the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Demon Maxy was charged with marring. Mr. Chilcott pleaded guilty to the charge. Demon Maxy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
