Nikita's Elite and Sky Duo were slow to begin. Abigail crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Major League, Billy Banjo, Black Angus and Big Black Mac. Major League and Nikita's Elite collided on the first turn. Black Angus and Big Black Mac collided on the first turn checking Sky Duo. Billy Banjo and Black Angus collided on the second turn checking Black Angus. Big Black Mac galloped on the heels of Nikita's Elite on the third turn checking both greyhounds. Black Angus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to it's left hip and groin and right hock. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. After speaking with Mr. M. Briganti, the trainer of Black Angus and considering the injuries the greyhound sustained, stewards issued a warning regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the second turn. A sample was taken from Nolen, the winner of the event.
