Notorious Boy went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Notorious Girl was slow to begin. Murradoc Whiz and Isa Jean collided soon after the start checking Murradoc Whiz. Blue To Bits crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Mepunga Lana and Notorious Girl. Isa Jean checked off Blue To Bits on the first turn. Born Lightning, Notorious Girl and Mepunga Lana collided approaching the home turn checking Notorious Girl, Born Lightning and Notorious Boy. Murradoc Whiz and Mepunga Lana collided on the home turn.
Stewards noted that the muzzle of Notorious Boy became partially dislodged during the running of the event.
