Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Twenty Deep.
Daisy May and Mind Flayer were quick to begin. Yankee Blood and Fernando Zoom were slow to begin.
Twenty Deep (severely checked and fell approaching the first turn), underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have split webbing on the right hind. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Crimson Kit (visibly eased approaching the first turn), underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a minor abrasion to the right hind foot, no stand down period applied. Stewards spoke to representative Mr D. Sharp regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Crimson Kit was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Sharp pleaded guilty to the charge. Crimson Kit must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mind Flayer (checked approaching the first turn and fell in the catching pen area), underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no injury reported.
