A pre–race sample was taken from Shavano.
Change and Julipa Bale were quick to begin.
Kayde was severely checked, subsequently stumbled and lost ground turning off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent injury.
Change turned its head outwards turning off the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a right back muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Gary McMillan regarding Change's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Change was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. McMillan pleaded not guilty to the charge. Change was found guilty. Change is suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted
