Denominator was quick to begin. Rushmore Red was slow to begin.
Nimble Sammi lost ground turn off back straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right bicep. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Supplementary Report:
Stewards finalised an inquiry via telephone with licensed person Christine Yourgules in relation to the no-race in Race 8 at Warrnambool on Thursday 7 September 2023. The Stewards issued a charge under GAR 156(f)(ii) for negligence with the particulars being that Ms Christine Yourgules placed the incorrect rug (number 7) on Federal Fernando when it should have had the number 8 rug and presented that greyhound to race, which in the opinion of the Stewards was negligent. Ms Yourgules pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $250.
