Steward's Report
Stewards conferred with the judges regarding the finishing times for 1st placing. A margin was visible in the photo finish image, with the actual finishing time for Smooth Plane being 29.3776, compared to 29.3781 for Eskimo Roger. However, as FastTrack is limited to displaying three decimal places, both times were automatically rounded to 29.378.
An out of competition sample was taken from Smooth Plane on 28 November 2023, pursuant to GAR 139.
Common Step and Eskimo Roger were quick to begin. Unique Destiny was slow to begin.
Unique Destiny (checked on the first turn) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury and a spike wound on the left achilles. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Post-race urine and blood samples were taken from Smooth Plane - the winner of the event.
