Steward's Report
In accordance with LR 40.2, Mr. Colin Goodman was issued with a warning regarding non–compliance with the GRV Dress Standards.
A pre-race sample was taken from Flying Speed.
It was noted that the muzzle of Flying Speed became partially dislodged during the running of the event.
Flying Speed and Mills For Three were slow to begin.
Flying Speed (visibly eased and pulled up in the home straight), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Colin Goodman regarding Flying Speed’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Flying Speed was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Goodman pleaded guilty to the charge. Flying Speed is suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
