Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 27.7 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.9 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Clyde and Mrs. Who were quick to begin.
Mr. Fortitude went up with the lids at box rise, was slow to begin, collided with Bonta on multiple occasions in-running and ultimately performed below market expectation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a right long head triceps muscle injury as well as bruising on the right metatarsal region. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Daniel Turnley regarding the difficulty in boxing Mr. Fortitude in this event. A warning was issued pursuant to GAR 106(2), and Stewards will continue to monitor the box manners of Mr. Fortitude at future starts.
A post-race urine sample was taken from Clyde - winner of the event.
