Steward's Report
Whisky Nip – Late scratching at 5.58pm on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to hamstring injuries on the left and right hindlegs. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards queried Trainer Ms A. Hemingway and owner Mr D. Petersen in relation to the circumstances surrounding the late scratching of Whisky Nip. After considering the matter, Stewards took no action.
Rocky Horror and Marshall's Mate were quick to begin.
Sylvan Lake (lost ground approaching turn out of the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 10 - no injury reported.
A post-race sample was taken from Rocky Horror - winner of the event.
