Pursuant to GAR 75(6), starter D.Robertson did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way affected the outcome of this event.
Split Reef and Queen Butterfly were quick to begin. Cachi, Super Flirt and Kaye Night were slow to begin.
Split Reef raced wide in the back straight
Split Reef underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion on the muzzle, however no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. K Lloyd regarding Split Reef's racing manner approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Split Reef was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. K Lloyd pleaded not guilty to the charge. Split Reef was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
