Freeman Bale, Let Me Loose and Kabuto Bale were quick to begin. Red Whiskers was slow to begin.
Mrs. Dramatic - checked and lost ground soon after the start, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 6. Mrs. Dramatic was found to have injuries to the left shoulder, left gracillis and left triangle . A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Let Me Loose - checked and lost ground on the home turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock sprain and left achilles tendon injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
A post–race sample was taken from Kabuto Bale – the winner of the event.
