Steward's Report
Ms. M. Gray, trainer of Swing On redeclared a new weight of 25.1kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR39(2). Swing On last raced at 26.5kgs.
Bomber Title was quick to begin. Ladies Kay was slow to begin.
Bold Caper, Noonan's Unit and Swing On collided soon after the start. Ashanti Crown and Download collided approaching the first turn checking Ashanti Crown, Swing On and Bold Caper. Download crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Ladies Kay, Noonan's Unit and Ashanti Crown. Bomber Title checked off Star Shaker on the first turn. Noonan's Unit checked off Ashanti Crown approaching the home turn checking Swing On. Ashanti Crown and Ladies Kay collided approaching the home turn checking Ashanti Crown. Noonan's Unit and Swing On collided on the home turn. Swing On eased in the home straight. Bold Caper and Download collided several times in the home straight.
Stewards noted that the muzzle of Bold Caper became dislodged during the running of the event.
Stewards spoke to B. Gray the handler of the greyhound Swing On. Swing On was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right thigh and torn webbing to the right front paw. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR69(B)(1), the stewards charged Swing On with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
