Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr D. Leathan, the trainer of Bernmar Roz, following his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to prepare the greyhound for the event. Pursuant to GAR 46(2) Mr Leathan was fined the sum of $100.
Bernmar Roz, Pentapod and Provincial Bear collided soon after the start, checking Bernmar Roz. Pentapod, Provincial Bear, Miss Miantra, Arrow Head, Sun Valley and Tres Bon collided on the first turn, checking Arrow Head and severely checking Miss Miantra. Pentapod and Tres Bon collided in the back straight. Pentapod faltered on the second turn, checking Provincial Bear and Tres Bon and causing Pentapod to pull up. Bernmar Roz, Provincial Bear and Tres Bon collided approaching the home turn. Tres Bon and Bernar Roz collided in the home straight, checking both greyhounds. Tres Bon marred the running of Bernmar Roz approaching the winning post.
Pentapod was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a grade 3 tear to the right whip muscle, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Miss Miantra was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a skin laceration to the left hind toe, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Tres Bon was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr R. Parker, the trainer of the greyhound Tres Bon. Acting under GAR69(1) stewards charged Tres Bon with marring and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
