In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.0 degrees and the kennel temperature was18.0 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.

Tommy Tornado was galloped on by Dr. Felisha, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left metatarsal abrasions. No stand down period was imposed.

Dr. Felisha underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a left hind spike wound injury. A  10 day stand down period was imposed.

Victory Mick was slow to begin.

Grace Gem contacted the running rail approaching the 250m mark, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right foreleg shin soreness. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Dr. Lukie underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a left hindleg abraded paw pad injury. A  7 day stand down period was imposed.

Jayville Bolt was quick to begin. Madalia Snoopy, Redshift Victory and Victory Will were slow to begin.

Kosgei lost ground, contacted the running rail at the 250m mark and subsequently pulled up. Kosgei underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left and right hindleg abductor injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.Stewards spoke to Mr Leigh Jennings regarding Kosgei’s performance and racing manners at the 250m mark. After hearing submissions from Mr Jennings, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Kosgei unsatisfactory. Kosgei must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Dr. Linda May was quick to begin. Gage and Dr. Xian were slow to begin.

Shady Talks, Pinjarra Bale and Omega Morgan were slow to begin.

Pursuant to the GRV Hot Weather Policy, the Stewards dispensed with two requirements prior to Race 6 meaning greyhounds were no longer required to remain on course for the specified time and that the parading of greyhounds was to occur, as the outside temperature had decreased to a reasonable level.
