Steward's Report
A sample was taken from Patchy Walloper upon arrival at the course.
Donny Rocks – New declared weight of 36.7kg, last raced at 35.1kg.
Trainer Mr L.Jones failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Patchy Walloper for racing. A warning was issued pursuant to GAR 97(2).
Trainer Mr L.Jones requested an early race endorsement for Patchy Walloper. The Stewards approved the request after an examination prior to racing by the on–track veterinarian. Patchy Walloper will compete in early races until further notice.
Cookie Delight was quick to begin.
Patchy Walloper (marred Donny Rocks approaching the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right toe injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr L.Jones regarding Patchy Walloper’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Patchy Walloper was charged with marring. Mr Jones pleaded guilty to the charge, Patchy Walloper was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Donny Rocks (unsatisfactory in the event) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr A.Debattista regarding Donny Rock’s performance and racing manners approaching the winning post. After hearing submissions from Mr Debattista, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Donny Rocks unsatisfactory. Donny Rocks must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
