Steward's Report

A sample was taken from Maximum Jane upon arrival at the course.

A pre–race sample was taken from Jewel Danae.

A pre–race sample was unable to be obtained from Chasing Barbie, a post–race sample was subsequently taken.

Maximum Jane, Rochelle Royale and Chasing Barbie were quick to begin. Shatter was slow to begin.

Maximum Jane (lost ground entering the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

It's Luigi - underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr S.Webb via telephone regarding the racing manners of It's Luigi in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr Webb, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.

Shatter (turned its head outwards in the home straight) a post–race veterinary examination found an injury to left shoulder muscle and right triangle muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Lee More regarding Shatter’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Shatter was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Moore pleaded not guilty, however Shatter was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
