River Romance and Uncle More were quick to begin.  River Romance, Creative Karisma and Uncle More collided on the first turn checking Uncle More and Premier Ruby.  Bruiser Bale and Whistler Bale collided on the first turn.  Bruiser Bale, Whistler Bale and Uncle More collided on the second turn checking Uncle More.  Uncle More and Bruiser Bale collided approaching the home turn.

Koko Cabana was slow to begin.  Zambora Faith and Archi Bale collided soon after the start.  Zambora Faith, Archi Bale, Inter Carmella and Blazing Rocket collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Zambora Faith and Allen Gundam collided on the second turn.

Zambora Faith was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A pre-race sample was taken from Daintree Puzzle, the winner of the event.

Uno Shelley and Cheezle Lips were slow to begin.  Sonic Fantasy and Cheezle Lips collided soon after the start.  Sonic Fantasy, Acola Jade and Delta Daisy collided soon after the start checking Acola Jade.  Delta Daisy and Love Affair collided approaching the first turn checking Delta Daisy.  Acola Jade checked off Delta Daisy on the first turn.  Uno Shelley and Sonic Fantasy collided on the second turn.  Delta Daisy and Love Affair collided on the third turn.  Ice Flicka and Daintree Puzzle collided on the home turn.  Sonic Fantasy and Love Affair collided in the home straight.

Stewards noted that the muzzle of Uno Shelley became dislodged soon after the start of the event.

Tekki China was quick to begin.  Almani Bruiser and Hold On Wincup were slow to begin.  Classy Boy and Sig Sauer collided soon after the start checking Classy Boy.  Power Volt and Rinash collided soon after the start.  Classy Boy and Almani Bruiser collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Classy Boy and Hold On Wincup collided on the third turn checking Hold On Wincup.  Classy Boy eased in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Thorpe, the trainer of the greyhound Classy Boy.  Classy Boy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to it's left stopper bone.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Classy Boy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Tekki China was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Dyna Nihilist was a late scratching at 1:20pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to illness.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Sage Bale was quick to begin.  Allen Warlock and Bally Abbie collided soon after the start.  Fuzzy Buzzy anbd Droopy's Bentley collided approaching the first turn checking Fuzzy Buzzy.  Bally Abbie and Fuzzy Buzzy collided on the first turn, on the second turn and again entering the back straight checking Bally Abbie.

Bally Abbie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to it's right hind leg.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Cooper, the handler of the greyhound Bally Abbie.  Stewards deemed the performance of Bally Abbie unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Bally Abbie must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Fairy Lace and Mighty Lomar collided soon after the start.  Yanick Allen, Perfect Madison and Run Right Back collided soon after the start. Mighty Lomar and Mick's Lady collided on the first turn.  Perfect Madison and Amaroo Girl collided entering the back straight.  Mick's Lady and Mighty Lomar collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Mighty Lomar, Perfect Madison and Amaroo My Girl collided approaching the home turn checking Mighty Lomar, Perfect Madison, Amaroo My Girl and Mick's Lady.  Amaroo My Girl checked off Run Right Back approaching the winning post.

Witch Bale was quick to begin.  Cosmic Rush was slow to begin.  Cosmic Rush, Kerrigan Bale and Limburg Layne collided soon after the start.  Cosmic Rush checked off Witch Bale approaching the first turn checking Kerrigan Bale.  Limburg Layne, Witch Bale and Snapper's Mate collided on the first turn checking Witch Bale and Limburg Layne.  Kerrigan Bale and Cosmic Rush collided on the first turn.  Witch Bale, Where's Neo and Kerrigan Bale collided approaching the second turn checking Where's Neo and Kerrigan Bale.

Dyna Zod, Aristotle Bale and Charlie Image were slow to begin.  Dyna Zod and Aristotle Bale collided soon after the start and again approaching the second turn.  Aristotle Bale and Lyrical Allen collided on the second turn.  Darsmaster checked off Freesia Bale in the back straight.  Dyna Zod and Spring Jade collided on the third turn.

Let's Say Hello was a late scratching at 9:03am due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Girthy.

Dyna Unique was quick to begin.  Daring Escape and Black Typhos collided soon after the start.  Dyna Synch galloped on the heels of Dyna Unique approaching the first turn.  Daring Escape and Black Typhos collided several times on the first turn and again approaching the second turn severely checking both greyhounds; both greyhounds tailed off as a result.  Shattered Ice checked off Ice Cossack approaching the home turn.  Dyna Unique and Ice Cossack collided on the home turn.

Daring Escape was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured left hock.  The greyhound was humanely euthanised.

Black Typhos was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to it's right back muscle, right sartorius and it's right shoulder muscle.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Meeting Comments

Satisfactory Trial Results - 

Frank Furter trialled over the 515 metre distance from box 1, weight 30.7kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 30.0.  The greyhound was won by a margin of 3 lengths.  Frank Furter was cleared.
