A sample was taken from Crackerjack Aret upon arrival at the course.

Crackerjack Aret was slow to begin.

Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. John Barbara regarding Gunai Bold's racing manners entering the home straight. Mr. Barbara advised Stewards that the greyhound had not had much experience running in a field and may be better for the run. Stewards noted Mr. Barbara's comments and took no further action, but will contine to monitor the greyhound at future starts. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Selynya Blue.

Slingshot Sneaky and Minty Freshman were quick to begin.

Minty Freshman raced ungenerously approaching the winning post, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a diaphragmatic flutter. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Liam Sharp regarding the racing manners of Minty Freshman. After hearing submissions from Mr. Sharp, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.

A post–race sample was taken from Slingshot Woody – the winner of the event.

A sample was taken from She Can Talk upon arrival at the course.

The start of this event was aborted and deemed a false start due to an issue with the automatic trip start. All greyhounds were removed from the starting boxes, vetted by the On-Track Veterinarian and passed fit to race in accordance with GAR 110 (7). The race was delayed by approximately 7 minutes whilst this occurred. The race then commenced at 7:50pm. Stewards note that this event was hand-started as a result.

Marriage Over was very slow to begin (3L).

Only Saying raced ungenerously in the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Michael Cullen regarding the racing manners of Only Saying. After hearing submissions from Mr. Cullen, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.

Marriage Over was slow to begin and checked turning off the back straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Blackpool Ryan was quick to begin. Midnight Rocker was slow to begin.

A post-race sample was taken from Smart Talk - the winner of the event.

Nova Star was slow to begin.

A sample was taken from Destini Saxon upon arrival at the course.

Stewards note that an electrician attended on-track prior to the start of this event and rectified the earlier issue with the automatic trip start that caused the delay to the start of Race 3. The automatic trip start was tested and approved for use by Stewards.

Blazing Nenna and Downstream were quick to begin. Destini Saxon and Ephemeral were slow to begin.

A post–race sample was taken from Conroy – the winner of the event.

Ferocious Rust, Quebec Bale and Joliet Bale were quick to begin.

Lady Dior was slow to begin.

A post–race sample was taken from Tinker Norm – the winner of the event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Nixon Bale.

A pre-race sample was taken from Elite Jet.

Blackpool Dill was quick to begin. Elite Jet, Hadouken and Tinker Town were slow to begin.

Blackpool Dill underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of Stewards and was found to have a left-hind spike wound. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

It was noted that the muzzle of Tinker Town became partially dislodged during the running of the event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Love Heart.

Especial Pip was quick to begin. Love Heart and Zambora Lou were slow to begin.

Riverdale Goldie and Katari Night were quick to begin. Zambora Topaz was slow to begin.

Dr. Matrix visibly eased and turned its head inwards turning off the back straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have bruising to the left thigh. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. K. Quinn regarding Dr. Matrix’s racing manners turning off the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Dr. Matrix was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Quinn pleaded guilty to the charge and Dr. Matrix must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
