Steward's Report
Flying Pie visibly eased between the 100m and the 50m mark. Flying Pie underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left flexor tendon injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Brad Sands regarding Flying Pie's performance in the event. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Flying Pie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Sands pled guilty to the charge. Flying Pie was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Aston Sergio - the winner of the event.
