Steward's Report
Where's My Hat, Omega hondo, Dark Horse and Panza Attack were slow to begin.
Sweet Fire turned it's head in the back straight and visibly eased approaching the winning post. Sweet Fire underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Kennel Representative Ms Kristen Tucker declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Ms Tucker regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the back straight and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Sweet Fire was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Tucker pled guilty to the charge, Sweet Fire was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at insert at Traralgon and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Panza Attack fell entering the catching pen, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 7. Panza Attack was found to have injuries to the left wrist and left fore nail bed. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
