Steward's Report
Jamaican Money – Late scratching at 13:42 due to weight variation (GAR 101). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Ms Judy Brereton was fined $100
Block A Gold was quick to begin.
Woodleigh Bear underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Gregory Graham regarding Woodleigh Bear’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Woodleigh Bear was charged with marring. Mr Graham pled guilty to the charge, Woodleigh Bear was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mt. View Sublime turned it's head out in the home straight and, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 5 - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Trevor Whitford regarding Mt View Sublime’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Mt. View Sublime was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.Mr Whitford pled guilty to the charge, Mt View Sublime was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
I'm Waiting collided severely with Woodleigh Bear on the home turn and underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hamstring injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Block A Gold.
Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry regarding the conduct of Trainer Mr Steven Hanning following race one.
SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT 23 December 2022
Stewards concluded an adjourned inquiry with Mr Steven Hanning from the Warragul Greyhound Racing Club Meeting held on 24 November 2022, into Mr Hanning's conduct toward GRV Stewards and conduct in the kennel building following the running of race one. Mr Hanning pled guilty to a charge of GAR 165(a) in that he engaged in conduct that was detrimental or prejudicial to the interest, welfare, image, control or promotion of greyhound racing. Stewards imposed a penalty of $500 with $250 wholly suspended for a period of 12 months.
