Steward's Report
Our Patchy was quick to begin Smooth Cruiser was slow to begin.
Our Patchy visibly eased from the 150m mark to the 100m mark, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a bruising and a spike wound to the right achilles. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Adrian Smit regarding Our Patchy’s racing manners from the 150m mark to the 100m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Our Patchy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Smit pled guilty to the charge, Our Patchy was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Black Edition fell on the home turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right groin injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Jet Lee Spolly - the winner of the event.
