Steward's Report
Hillbilly Lu was slow to begin. Hillbilly Nova was very slow to begin (3L).
Sunshine Gold (checked on the home turn and in the home straight), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left chest muscle injury and a left pencil muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Crusoe Pearl, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Hillbilly Lu (lost ground approaching the home turn and in the home straight), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 3. Hillbilly Lu was found to have a left shoulder injury and a psoas injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Douglas Sheridan regarding the racing manners of Sunshine Gold in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr Sheridan, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
