Steward's Report
Barista Chick was slow to begin. Maybe Yesterday was very slow to begin (4 lengths).
Silver Brute visibly eased approaching the winning post, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 11. Silver Brute was found to have injuries to the right deltoid and right quadriceps. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Gary Peach regarding Silver Brute’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Silver Brute was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Peach pled guilty to the charge, Silver Brute was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Post–race samples were taken from Unleash Collinda (1st), Not For Profit (2nd) and Deadly Rookie (3rd).
