In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 16 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

The closing time of kennelling was altered in accordance with GAR 86, due to the late arrival of several trainers who experienced significant traffic delays on–route to the track. The kennels closed at 1:25pm.

Moraine Tom and Moraine Mario were slow to begin.

Cyclone Season was quick to begin. Send It Blue was slow to begin.

A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Stout.

Hooroo Tears was quick to begin.

Moraine Zorro faltered and subsequently tailed off in the front straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track in the home straight and deemed it suitable for racing.

Mr. Michael Carlstrom was issued with a reminder of responsibilities under GAR156(f) for negligence following an incident in the catching pen shortly after the conclusion of this event. Stewards reminded Mr. Carlstrom to exercise more care whilst catching greyhounds in the pen and to be aware of his surroundings at all times, so as to avoid the reoccurrence of such instances.

Obsession Agogo was quick to begin. Quill Bale was slow to begin.

A post–race sample was taken from Lochinvar Jazz – the winner of the event.

Sunisa Bale was slow to begin.

Ryebuck Tears – New declared weight of 28.0kg, last raced at 26.9kg.

A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Miguel.

Dimora Cruz and Millie Bale were slow to begin.

Aston Miguel underwent a post-race veterinary examination after being marred by Betty's Baklava and was found to have a right-hind spike wound and an injury to the left hip. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Betty's Baklava marred Aston Miguel turning off the back straight and continued to do so for the remainder of the event. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. David Burnett regarding Betty's Baklava's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Betty's Baklava was charged with marring. Mr. Burnett pleaded guilty to the charge and Betty's Baklava was suspended for 28 days at Sandown Park and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Dookie Devil and Commission were quick to begin. Mystify Kick was slow to begin.

Orson Leigh was quick to begin. It's A Brew was slow to begin. 

A post–race sample was taken from Alpine Butterfly – the winner of the event.

Mighty Moose was quick to begin. My Mate Neo and Unacceptable Sid were slow to begin.

Flip Your Fifty underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer's request and was found to have a left-hind dislocated toe as well as abdominal bloating. A 21 day stand down period was imposed and it was organised for the greyhound to see an off-track veterinarian immediately.

Federal Reserve and Penny's Jade were quick to begin. Pirate Kingsley was slow to begin.

Soda Apache was quick to begin.

Soda Felix was slow to begin and failed to make up any ground in the event. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left-fore wrist sprain. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
