Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Miguel.
Dimora Cruz and Millie Bale were slow to begin.
Aston Miguel underwent a post-race veterinary examination after being marred by Betty's Baklava and was found to have a right-hind spike wound and an injury to the left hip. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Betty's Baklava marred Aston Miguel turning off the back straight and continued to do so for the remainder of the event. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. David Burnett regarding Betty's Baklava's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Betty's Baklava was charged with marring. Mr. Burnett pleaded guilty to the charge and Betty's Baklava was suspended for 28 days at Sandown Park and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
