Steward's Report
A pre–race sample was taken from Fab's Udon.
Like A Lorry was very slow to begin (4 lengths).
Due to a mechanical malfunction, this event was incorrectly semaphored as Race 3 but subsequently rectified by the on-course Judge.
Cindy's Charm (severely checked and brushed the running rail on the first turn). Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr. T. Tufo (via telephone), after he left the course today without Stewards permission and without having greyhound Cindy's Charm vetted following the event. Stewards charged Mr. Tufo with breach of GAR 94(2) and fined him the sum of $100 (wholly suspended for a 12 month period pending no further breaches under GAR 94(2). Stewards also directed that he present Cindy's Charm at the Warragul GRC meeting on Tuesday, 27 December, 2022 for a veterinary examination. In assessing the matter, Stewards took into consideration Mr. Tufo's record in the industry, co-operation and willingness to rectify the situation.
Supplementary Report:
Cindy's Charm – In accordance with GAR 41(5), was presented for a re–vet at the conclusion of kennelling after Trainer, Mr. T. Tufo left Geelong on 23 December without Stewards permission and without having greyhound Cindy's Charm vetted following the event. Cindy's Charm was examined by the on–track veterinarian and found to be free from injury.
A post–race sample was taken from Battle Royal – the winner of the event.
