Steward's Report
Shadow Riot – Late scratching at 8.33am when Trainer - Mr. A. Azzopardi reported the greyhound to have bruising to the right leg (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted. Stewards spoke to Mr. Azzopardi regarding the timing of the late withdrawal. Mr. Azzopardi stated that he checked Shadow Riot prior to scratching deadline and found the greyhound to be sound, however, following an incident, the greyhound was found to be injured with subsequent bruising.
Incineration began awkwardly and was very slow to begin (5L).
Post-race samples were taken from placegetters Ike Bale (1st) and Incineration (2nd).
