Jolly Johnny turned his head outwards approaching the winning post and marred Whizbang Godon. Jolly Johnny underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Marcus Lloyd regarding Jolly Johnny’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Jolly Johnny was charged with marring. Mr Lloyd pled guilty to the charge, Jolly Johnny was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Teflon Tears, Hail Zeus and Eleanor Rigby were slow to begin.

Goodbye Ben – The frequency of racing was discussed with representative, Mr D. Elliot and his comments were noted.  Goodbye Ben underwent a post-race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

Panadero Warrior and Flying Sonic were slow to begin.

Shadow Riot – Late scratching at 8.33am when Trainer - Mr. A. Azzopardi reported the greyhound to have bruising to the right leg (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.  Stewards spoke to Mr. Azzopardi regarding the timing of the late withdrawal.  Mr. Azzopardi stated that he checked Shadow Riot prior to scratching deadline and found the greyhound to be sound, however, following an incident, the greyhound was found to be injured with subsequent bruising.

Incineration began awkwardly and was very slow to begin (5L).

Battle Royal and Mr. Beets were quick to begin. Silk was slow to begin.

Due to Albany Thoroughbreds being put back to a later schedule this afternoon, the start of this race was recheduled to start at 8.04pm from the advertised starting time of 8.05pm.

Silver Blade – New declared weight of 30.8 kgs, last raced at 31.9 kgs.

Trainer, Ms. D. Goudge, requested an early race endorsement for Break The Clouds.  The Stewards approved the request after an examination prior to racing by the on–track veterinarian. Break The Clouds will compete in early races until further notice.
