Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Steel Hawk on 20 December 2022 pursuant to GAR 139.
A race day sample was taken from My Blaze at the trainer’s kennel, earlier today.
Penny Daze – Late scratching at 5:57pm due to weight variation (GAR 101). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Ms. D. Cumes was fined $100.
Uninhabited Man was slow to begin.
Uninhabited Man lost ground soon after the start, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right and left shin soreness. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Howell, the trainer of Uninhabited Man regarding the greyhound's overall performance in this event. Mr Howell stated that Uninhabited Man had not previously trialled at Warragul and has had little field experience. Stewards noted Mr Howell's comments and taking into consideration the injury sustained and this being the greyhound's first start, no further action was taken. Stewards informed Mr Howell that a similar performance in the future may result in a Satisfactory trial.
A post-race sample was taken from Maricia Hook - the winner of the event.
