Steward's Report
Atomic Cabang– Late scratching at 9.37am due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mr Berry informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. Stewards advised Mr Berry that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.
A sample was taken from Hard On Me upon arrival at the course.
Stewards questioned trainer, Ms Marlene Schmidt in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal of Maggie Flyer from this event. Ms Schmidt's stated that the greyhound had been checked at the vet on Friday morning following her last start at The Meadows on 31 August 2022 and was found to have an injury. Ms Schmidt's comments were noted.
Zumba Lena– The frequency of racing was discussed with Mr Gary Febey, the comments were noted. Zumba Lena underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right quadriceps injury and a right sartorius injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
