Racing was indefinitely delayed at 5.09pm due to Lightning and Thunderstorm activity in the vicinity around the Warrnambool Track. Lightning strikes were then recorded inside the designated safety zone (in accordance with the Lightning and Thunderstorm Procedure) at 5.09, 5.10, 5.14, 5.15, 5.20, 5.23, 5.24, 5.30, 5.34, 5.37, 5.43 and 5.52pm.  In consideration of the safety and wellbeing of all staff, participants and greyhounds, the delay to racing already incurred and the ongoing nature of the weather, the Stewards abandoned the remainder of the race meeting (races 8 -12) at 5.56pm, pursuant to GAR 111 (4). All bets on greyhounds in the abandoned races are to be refunded in full. The weights recorded for the greyhounds in the abandoned races are void and do not count for the purposes of the weight rule at the greyhounds’ next start. Prizemoney to be split evenly between the eligible greyhounds.
