Blackpool Sparky, Betty Mayo and Blackpool Hank were quick to begin. Western's Bear was slow to begin.

Blackpool Hank - Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr A. Kenyon regarding the significant betting fluctuation of the greyhound ($18-$3.5). Mr Kenyon explained that he had supported the greyhound as he believed it could win the event. Mr Kenyon's comments were noted. A sample was taken from Blackpool Hank placed second in the event.
