Lap To Far was quick to begin. Loved By You was slow to begin.
A post - race sample was taken from Tails Of Woe - the winner of the event.
Mr. Deeds visibly eased and turned its head outwards in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Brendan Pursell regarding Mr. Deeds’ racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Mr. Deeds was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Pursell declined a re-vet and pled guilty to the charge, Mr. Deeds was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown Park and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Tails Of Woe visibly eased and turned its head inwards approaching the winning post, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right groin and a tarsal sprain injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Bouchier regarding Tails Of Woe’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Tails Of Woe was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Bouchier pled not guilty to the charge, Tails Of Woe was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
