Banjo Star was quick to begin. Mondavi went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Talyana and Dewana Hold On were slow to begin. Banjo Star crossed to the rail soon after the start. Hey Roseeta and Punch It collided approaching the first turn. Mondavi checked off Dewana Hold On on the first turn causing Mondavi to contact the running rail and lose ground. Punch It galloped on Glenstall Abbey on the first turn checking Glenstall Abbey, Talyana, Hey Roseeta, Punch It and Jay's Spirit. Dewana Hold On and Punch It collided approaching the second turn. Talyana crossed to the outside in the back straight checking Glenstall Abbey. Hey Roseeta crossed to the outside in the back straight checking Punch It. Glenstall Abbey and Talyana collided on the third turn causing Talyana to hit the running rail. Talyana checked off the heels of Punch It entering the home straight.
Mondavi was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
