This race was delayed by approximately 8 minutes due to a problem with the lure cable.
Finny was slow to begin. Finny and McThumpa collided soon after the start. Just Wins and Lefty Burner collided approaching the first turn checking Lefty Burner. Magneto Bale, Scunitza Speed and Sisco Fiasco collided approaching the first turn checking Scunitza Speed. Just Wins checked off Sisco Fiasco on the first turn severely checking Scunitza Speed. McThumpa galloped on Don't Crumble on the first turn checking McThumpa and severely checking Don't Crumble which stumbled as a result. Finny and Scunitza Speed collided in the home straight.
Don't Crumble was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
