Steward's Report
The Stewards interviewed Mr Damian Meade the trainer of Balmoral in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal from this race.
Humanity and No Way Nellie collided approaching the 400m. Montaro and No Way Nellie collided at the 200m. Humanity visible eased on the home turn and in the home straight and was subsequently was tailed off.
Humanity underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race 9 - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Brendan De Rozario, the trainer of Humanity regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Humanity was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr De Rozario pleaded guilty to the charge, Humanity was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at traralgon and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Zipping Hunter - the winner of the event.
