Steward's Report
Piparae and Ebonique collided approaching the first turn checking Ebonique which faltered and lost ground as result. Collaboration brushed the running rail on the first turn and raced ungenerously. Flash Opal and Midnight Storm collided approaching the home turn checking Midnight Storm. Spritely Star checked off Flash Opal on the home turn.
Collaboration underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury and a spike wound to the right hind foot. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Michael Carlstorm, the representative regarding the greyhound’s performance on the first turn. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Collaboration must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Ebonique underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured left hock. Ebonique was humanely euthanized
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Midnight Storm, a post-race sample was subsequently taken.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Stewards were advised that the track was medium harrowed on Thursday 4th November 2021.
Pursuant to GAR 31, Ms Julie Belsham was issued with a warning for failing to have all greyhounds kennelled by the appointed close of kennelling time.
SATISFACTORY TRIAL RESULTS:
Lunation – 6 months - Field of 5, Distance 311m, Weight 26.0 kg, Box 3, Placed 3rd, Time Run 18.05 - Comment: Cleared All Tracks.
Candy Gem – Fail To Chase (Injury) - Field of 5, Distance 311m, Weight 26.9 kg, Box 8, Placed 5th, Time Run 18.26 - Comment: Not Cleared, eased on the first turn.
