Violation was quick to begin. Chill Out Dusty was slow to begin.
Miss Angel Di and Hurricane Pete collided approaching the first turn. Violation crossed in on the first turn and collided with Urana Vieri, checking Urana Vieri, Junket Jarrod, Chill Out Dusty; severely checking Shanghai Avatar and Hurricane Pete, both greyhounds fell as a result. Urana Vieri and Junket Jarrod collided on the home turn checking Urana Vieri, Chill Out Dusty and Junket Jarrod. Miss Angel Di crossed in, in the home straight checking Violation.
Shanghai Avatar underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right groin injuries. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Hurricane Pete underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right shin soreness, left and right monkey muscles. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Violation underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist sprain. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Guy Bartlett regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Bartlett, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight.
