An out of competition sample was taken from Mariah Queen on 8/10/21 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Why Not Kez and Why Not Gigi were quick to begin.
Riverdale Bonnie, Reiko Langer, Riverdale Bear and Joyous Venture collided approaching the first turn severely checking Riverdale Bear which stumbled. Why Not Kez and Why Not Gigi collided on the first turn. Why Not Kez and Squawking Budgie collided approaching the home turn. Reiko Langer and Mariah Queen collided approaching the home turn. Joyous Venture and Why Not Gigi collided in the home straight. Joyous Venture and Why Not Gigi collided approaching the winning post checking Why Not Gigi.
Riverdale Bear underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Joyous Venture underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg shin soreness. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Representative Mrs D Coleman regarding the racing manners of Joyous Venture in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mrs Coleman, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.

Stewards opened an Inquiry in relation to the behaviour and language of licensed Trainer, Mr R Coleman, directed towards the GGRC Parade Official prior to the running of Event 7 this evening This matter will be reconvened at a date and time to be fixed.
