Steward's Report
Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, provided satisfactory evidence of vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination (workers) directions, undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Mechanical - Late scratching at 8:33 am when trainer Mr G Middleton reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea. (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Paisanos and Cambria Bale collided soon after the start. Kenzie Bale and Jagger's Lady collided approaching the first turn checking Kenzie Bale. Paisanos brushed the running rail approaching the first turn. Paisanos and Kenzie Bale collided on the first turn checking Paisanos. Nagambie Bale and Jagger's Lady collided on the first turn checking Nagambie Bale. Paisanos contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground as a result. Nagambie Bale checked off Rosalind Bale approaching the home turn. Rosalind Bale and Nagambie Bale collided on the home turn. Nagambie Bale checked off Utah Bale entering the home straight checking Rosalind Bale, Jagger's Lady and Cambria Bale. Utah Bale and Jagger's Lady collided approaching the winning post.
Paisanos underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
