Mahlo Magic checked off No Cash Ear soon after the start. El Bruiser crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking No Cash Ear. El Bruiser and Moonlite Spice collided on the first turn checking No Cash Ear, Mahlo Magic, Safana Bale and Hill Top Sam and severely checking El Bruiser.

El Bruiser was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
