A pre race sample was taken from Sky Alert.
Sky Alert was quick to begin. Maximum Height, Burekup Boy and China Plate collided soon after the start. Bally Bessie and Lyrical Allen collided soon after the start checking Bally Bessie. Golden Hippie and Maximum Height collided approaching the first turn checking Maximum Height. Jonny La Monte and Lyrical Allen collided approaching the first turn. Maximum Height and Bally Bessie collided approaching the home turn. Jonny La Monte raced wide in the home straight.
Maximum Height was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right triangle and right quadricep. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
