Steward's Report
Deady Express - slow to begin.
Soda Diamond - slow to begin. Lost ground approaching the 250m mark and underwent a post-race veterinary examination as a result. Found to have a left foreleg toe injury and shin soreness. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Dennis Langley regarding initial concerns with the greyhound's racing manners approaching the 250m mark. Stewards placed consideration on the greyhound's injury and the fact that there was no head on vision available in the back straight for this event which therefore made it difficult to discern whether the greyhound had been checked by Deadly Express. Stewards gave the greyhound the benefit of the doubt and took no further action. Mr. Langley further advised Stewards that he believes the greyhound may be better suited to a straight course as it gets closer to retirement.
