Steward's Report

All persons attending today wore facemasks when required, checked in, observed social distance requirements, and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

Miss Faberge was quick to begin.

Mepunga Raider and Max Fawn collided soon after the start.  Miss Faberge turned its head outward and visibly eased soon after the start colliding with Mepunga Raider and Max Fawn.  Miss Faberge turned its head outward again entering the back straight colliding with Max Fawn.  Jamaica Me Happy and Play Nice collided in the front straight.  Miss Faberge, Mepunga Raider and Max Fawn collided approaching the first turn checking Miss Faberge and Max Fawn.

Miss Faberge underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury.  Ms Angela Langton declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.  Stewards spoke to Ms Langton, the trainer of Miss Faberge regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start and again entering the back straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A (1) Miss Faberge was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Miss Langton pleaded guilty to the charge, Miss Faberge was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
