Cleo's Neo was quick to begin. Buster Harley was slow to begin.
Union Square checked off Crackerjack Dean on the first turn. Buster Harley and Union Square collided on the first turn checking Union Square. Free Ride and On The Off collided entering the back straight checking Free Ride. Buster Harley turned its head outward and visibly eased on the third turn colliding with On The Off, checking Free Ride, severely checking Buster Harley and On The Off. Crackerjack Dean and Free Ride collided approaching the home turn checking Free Ride. Buster Harley and Free Ride collided on the home turn.
Buster Harley underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Geoffrey Mitchell, the trainer of Buster Harley regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the third turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A (1) Buster Harley was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Mitchell pleaded not guilty to the charge, Buster Harley was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
