Steward's Report
Dr. Bella and Poppy Choppy were slow to begin.
Poppy Choppy and Hilton Hawk collided soon after the start. Dr. Bella and Zumba Lena collided at the 250m mark. Moyarra Illusion crossed in approaching the 50m mark and collided with Zumba Lena. Zumba Lena turned its head to the outside at the 50m mark and collided with Moyarra Illusion.
Zumba Lena underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Patrick Furci regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Zumba Lena was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Furci pleaded guilty to the charge, Zumba Lena was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
