A pre-race sample was taken from Ferocious Rust.
Rizzo was quick to begin. Got No Bro and Zipping Wreck were slow to begin. Small Soldier and Rizzo collided soon after the start. Small Soldier was checked off Nathan Ryder approaching the first turn. Rizzo and Nitro Bale collided on the home turn. Nathan Ryder raced wide in the home straight.
Nitro Bale underwent a post race veterinary examination following an incident in the catching pen and no apparent injury was reported.
A post race blood sample was taken from Divine Empress - winner of the event.
