Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Diego.
Princess Warrior and Moonlight Jack collided soon after the start, checking Princess Warrior. Princess Warrior, Janine's Desire and Myola Queen collided on the first turn, checking Janine's Desire. Diego visably eased entering the home straight. Moonlight Jack and Diego collided in the home straight.
Diego underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg track leg injury; a five day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Lachlan McLean regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B(1), Diego was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr McLean pleaded guilty to the charge, Diego was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
